dc.description.abstract | After insightful observation of the writing habits and performance of 22 students of 10th grade in Samborondón, Ecuador, it was noticed that when dealing with writing activities, most of the learners did not proofread their texts before sending them to the teacher as their main purpose was fulfilling the task given. This attitude was perceived by the teacher in different courses of the same grade level. Furthermore, it was observed that students did not spend time self- reflecting about their work or questioning their performance; even though they have already been taught the writing process of brainstorming, drafting, and proofreading. Thus, self-reflecting about the quality of their work is an important step to produce high-level texts in writing classes. | es_EC |
