Abstract: The following investigation focuses on the problems that workers from a communication and technology company based in Ecuador - who suffered illness or conditions that made them vulnerable, faced when they did home office during the emergency stated declared in the country due to disease caused by coronavirus. New work routines mixed with the responsibilities of taking care of their homes appeared to have a negative impact in their health as well as into their working performance. On March 12th, 2020, the government through the Public Health Ministry declared the emergency state in Ecuador and imposed strict measures to encourage people to stay at home and avoid unnecessary contact to decrease the risk of contagion of COVID-19. In this situation, many companies were forced to close their operations and offered workers the conditions to continue their duties from their houses. Workers with diseases that The author proposes a program for this group of workers consisting of periodic short physical exercises to be practiced along the working hours. The purpose of this program is to disconnect from the routine in order to rest and reduce the physical and social affectations derived from their diseases. The program will affect 115 workers from different areas and will be conducted by a specialized team of professionals from different areas, such as Human Resources, the company doctor and Social Labor. At first the will offer a diagnosis of the initial situation of the workers and recommend a specific guide of exercises to be practiced several times during the day. The implementation team will make periodic follow-up to verify if the program is successful.
